Talk about the Constitution
Talk about the Constitution
The Constitution needs renewal and understanding each generation, or it's not going to last.
Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy
The Constitution is the most important document in American history. The Center for the Constitution at Montpelier encourages you to talk with your children about the Constitution and how it defines what it means to be an American. As Americans we talk a lot about our rights as citizens. We also all have responsibilities to be engaged in the affairs of our communities and government. The Constitution guarantees your ability to do so, and the vitality of our democracy requires it.
The pages in this section will help you talk with your kids about the Constitution.
